Really neat! I love the alien models

This is really cool. I hope you expand on it more. Kind of reminds me of Loop Hero where you can basically lay out the map/dungeon ahead of you.

In case you're reading this at a much later date and this host is doing another jam where they're promising cash prizes, they completely ghosted everyone in this jam and disappeared when the results were supposed to have been posted. They aren't to be trusted.

Hey I appreciate the feedback. When you say "closed in" do you mean the actual level or the camera angle or both?

Hey, that was pretty good!

Holy crap, congrats! Loved this game

This is awesome and i hope you expand on it. It's like Loop Hero mixed with Space Invaders.

I really enjoy the power-ups in this. Having trouble posting images here but my high score is 5959. I hope you take this game concept and run with it because the gameplay is really satisfying and I think you could do so much more with it given enough time

Oh like going for a low res 90s "boomer shooter" look? That could work!

Tough game but i love the chill soundtrack

This is so neat. I love the movement of the squid creature. Reminds me a bit of "CARRION"

so has anything cropped up? Did you have a look at the things I noted?

I posted a couple possible solutions in the discord that might be worth looking at while you wait for support

Appreciate the feedback. For my next jam, I'm definitely doubling efforts on tuning character movement as that's the most common criticism this receives.

The movement definitely needs more weight! That seems to be the most common thing brought up. I'm really glad you enjoyed the graphics (and the cats!).

Yea if I were to go back and do it all over again, I would definitely spend more time tuning the movement as that seems to be the most common feedback I hear. It does feel a bit like you're walking on the moon or jumping around on the bottom of a swimming pool. I'm glad you enjoyed the graphics (and the cats!).  That was definitely where the majority of my effort went in this. Thanks for playing my game and commenting!

Thank you for playing and commenting with the feedback! I'm glad you appreciated the graphics. I had a lot of fun putting this together and making it pop.

If I were to adjust a few things. I'd definitely speed up the run a bit and give the player a bit more gravity.

Excellent graphics! The camera/control work struggled at times but I enjoy the concept and the mechanics, especially the part where you do the fuel puzzle to get the platform working. I rate it a Sus out of Ten, would eject out the airlock again.

Really enjoyed the concept of alternating platforms with the red/green markers.

I love the jetpack controls. Great job on the modeling as well. Gameplay went a little longer than what I would've liked, but the concept is excellent and the music/sounds are fitting as well. Great job on finishing your project!

Awesome game mechanics. I love the idea of having to figure out a way to the bomb and then defusing it every section of the game. Keeps things fresh and interesting as you bounce around the level. Great job!

Love the concept and art

Cool graphics and sound, obstacles are neat. Good job on finishin your level!

The intro graphics are adorable but I'd make the text scroll a bit faster or give the option to skip it. Controls are pretty smooth and I enjoy the whirlwind mechanic later on in the level. Great job on finishing your level!

Enjoyed the theme interpretation. Controls were a little confusing around the jump pads but overall it wasn't too hard to figure out. The end screen made me laugh. Congrats on finishing your project!

Love the art style and the sounds when you interact with stuff. The controls were a little confusing but I ended up powering through and completing it with 1 star. Great job on completing your project!

I love the fact that the death screen actually tells you specifically how you died and how far along in the level you were. Great job and congrats on completing your project!

I like the Hollow Knight type layout. I was a little confused by the bats because I ran into their little bullets a few times and it didn't seem to hurt me. Great job on completing your project!

I like the interpretation of the theme as well as the graphic style. I would consider moving the player's spawn a bit further back at the beginning so you can see what you're standing on. Made it a bit confusing when I kept falling down because I didn't realize I was standing on anything. The gravity is a little overkill so I might dial that down a bit. Great job on completing your project!

I like the overall concept of the ambulance getting to the objective in time. Definitely fits the theme. The graphics seem a bit stretched out or heavily compressed. I would maybe consider drawing the camera back a bit more to make the ambulance smaller. Congrats on completing your game!

Love the color palette. Very difficult. I like the visual indicators in the little "warm-up" before you start playing but I would make that much shorter since players are going to die a lot. Good job on completing your project!

Gameplay footage:

Yea you have to make an itch page for your submission so there's a description section things can be listed in.

Parkour, double jump, and sprint to the hospital before your HEART EXPLODES!

Neon Heartbeat was created for the Make-A-Level Jam. The theme was "EMERGENCY" and was required to be a platformer with a single level.
